Any child with Cerebral Palsy or motor disorder will be considered for admission to our school. If you wish to have a child admitted, please contact us and arrange an appointment to meet our principal, Ildiko Veres, who will arrange an assessment.
All children who would be eligible for admission to the school are likely to be entitled to have a Statement of Special Educational Needs. You may indicate a preference for the Buddy Bear Trust Conductive Education School and if the statement names the Buddy Bear Trust Conductive Education School the Education Authority must place the child in the school and pay fees and may also pay a contribution towards travel expenses. Parents have a right to express their preference regarding their child’s education particularly if their child has special needs. Parents are advised to start this process as soon as possible.
The Education Authority must take account of parental preference before it makes a formal statement detailing the educational needs of the child.
Parents are welcome to contact the school for advice and support regarding the admission of their child to the Buddy Bear Trust Conductive Education School.
The Buddy Bear Trust Conductive Education School is an Independent Special School recognised by the Department of Education and inspected by the Education and Training Inspectorate.
The Education Authority has paid the fees for a number of children to be educated at the school since it opened in 1993.
The Education Authority can also pay a travel allowance to Parents/Guardians if necessary.
